The maestro of style and design from Kolkata, Sabyasachi Mukherjee showcased his Colour Fantasy collection on day 3 of the Lakme India Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2011 Season. Men, women and children walked down the ramp presenting colour coordinated sections of this brilliantly colourful collection.
The Patiala salwar designs held a touch of Kathak and Kathakali for the silhouettes, music and presentation. The collection made use of khadi, silk, organza, net and velvet. Thread work from Kashmir fused perfectly with the restrained bling of dull zardozi.
Twenty three model entries of different groups of models dressed in black, brown, khaki, red, orange, white; wide silhouettes in basic and simple styles made quite an impact on the spell-bound audience.
The beautiful Kashmiri embroidery appeared on boleros, waistcoats, edges of kurtas, tunics and cholis, cropped tops, sherwanis and dupattas. The patialas, elephant pants and cowled pants were match perfectly with smocks, tunics, kurtas and jackets.
Gorgeous sarees in velvet and net with shimmering ornate borders, teamed with embroidered cholis completed this brilliantly designed and commercially viable collection.
