Subramaniam began his performance career at the age of six, and over the last five decades has given thousands of performances around the world. He began his career performing with legends like Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar and Palghat Mani Iyer, In his teens and early twenties, he was a part of the historic violin trio created by his father Prof. V. Lakshminarayana with his brothers. He taken Carnatic music to every corner of the world from Iceland to South Africa, from Brazil to New Zealand and has captivated audiences around the world. He is responsible for establishing South Indian classical music at mainstream venues and has performed at the most prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Chicago’s Millennium Park, Beijing’s National Center for Performing Arts and the Esplanade.
