Telugu film star, Ram Charan Teja, son of superstar and Congress MP Chiranjeevi married his childhood sweetheart Upasna Kamineni, grand-daughter of Pratap C. Reddy, Chairman, Apollo Group of Hospitals at a glittering ceremony at Temple Trees, a farmhouse on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
The sheer grandeur of the venue was reminiscent of a grand opera, complete with small balconies and strings of pearls strung everywhere. Upasna was decked up in a pretty Tarun Tahiliani outfit of yellow and gold silk sari with a Swarovski-studded border and embellished with zardosi French knots and tiny semi-precious stones. The look was completed with a pink zardosi corset and a veil. Ram sported a royal sherwani and dhoti from the same designer.
The morning wedding saw high-profile guests in attendance who were received humbly by Chiranjeevi's brothers, brother-in-law and nephew from the groom's side while Dr. Reddy himself from the bride's side. Superstars Amitabh Bachchan, Rajnikanth, Sridevi with Boney Kapoor, Mohan Babu, Mani Ratnam, Ambareesh, Venkatesh, Governors E.S.L. Narasimhan (Andhra Pradesh) and K. Rosaiah (Tamil Nadu), Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Leader of Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu, K. Chandrasekhar Rao and several ministers, MPs and MLAs were some of the guests in the wedding ceremony. The evening saw a grand reception at the 5-star hotel Novotel which again saw a bevy of stars who had come to wish the couple. As a special treat to his fans, another wedding was scheduled the next day which was an open event for all.
